Designer Architectural Glazing / Curtain Walling Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme Salary: £35,000 £47,000 DOE Working Pattern: Hybrid working available About the Company Our client is an established specialist within the architectural glazing and façade sector, with over 60 years of industry experience and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. The business specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke architectural glazing solutions, working across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and other major developments. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Designer to join their design team. The Role As a Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and design information for a range of architectural glazing and façade projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, clients and other members of the design team to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. Key Responsibilities Producing detailed technical drawings for architectural glazing and façade systems Designing curtain walling, windows, doors and associated aluminium systems Developing designs from concept through to manufacture and installation Preparing fabrication and installation drawings Reviewing architectural and structural drawings Liaising with clients, contractors and internal departments Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements Supporting the wider design team throughout the project lifecycle Identifying and resolving technical issues during the design process Maintaining accurate project documentation and design records About You The ideal candidate will have previous experience within architectural glazing, curtain walling, aluminium, façades or a closely related sector . You will ideally have: Experience working within a façade, glazing or aluminium design environment Strong knowledge of curtain walling and/or architectural glazing systems Proficiency in AutoCAD The ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings Strong technical understanding and attention to detail Good communication and organisational skills The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines A willingness to develop your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility Experience with Kawneer systems or other major aluminium system houses would be advantageous. You will support the wider sales function by ensuring all customer requirements are translated accurately into quotations and production-ready orders, while maintaining strong communication, attention to detail, and a high level of customer service throughout the order lifecycle.
