Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Roofing Estimator or Assistant Estimator to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a diverse portfolio of roofing projects. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for flat and pitched roofing projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to assess project requirements
- Conducting material take-offs and producing accurate bills of quantities
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Analysing labour, material, and time requirements to ensure accurate pricing
- Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions
- Supporting the commercial and pre-construction teams throughout the tender process
- Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings where required
- Experience as an Estimator or Assistant Estimator within the roofing or wider construction sector (or strong construction knowledge for junior applicants)
- Understanding of flat and pitched roofing systems, materials, and installation methods
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn
- Highly organised and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, or estimating (preferred but not essential)
