Works Delivery Manager

Are you a Works Delivery Manager, Scheme Project Manager or Construction Manager with proven experience delivering reactive maintenance works within the rail sector? Do you have experience managing high-volume, low-value schemes across structures, earthworks or civils, taking responsibility from initial scoping and planning through to delivery and handover? Are you looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of your work bank, manage multiple delivery teams and thrive within a fast-paced and reactive rail environment? Location: Chesterfield or Newcastle office - Hybrid working, typically 1 day in the office, 1 day on site and 3 days working from home Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, with potential flexibility up to £60,000 for an exceptional candidate Benefits: Company vehicle Private healthcare Pension contribution 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays Flexible hybrid working Lodgings provided where overnight stays are required Role Overview: Due to continued demand across a major rail maintenance framework, my client is seeking an experienced Works Delivery Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of reactive and small scheme works across the rail network. This is a high-volume, fast-paced delivery environment focused on essential maintenance rather than major projects. You will be responsible for managing approximately £200,000 of works each month, overseeing schemes involving structures and earthworks including culverts, drainage, brickwork and associated civils activities. The Works Delivery Manager will effectively operate as a Scheme Project Manager, taking responsibility for the full lifecycle of each scheme from initial remit and scoping through pricing, planning, design coordination, delivery and final handover. You will manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and coordinate approximately three delivery gangs consisting of supervisors and operatives. The successful candidate will therefore need to be comfortable working independently, prioritising competing requirements and keeping multiple schemes progressing at the same time. The position offers flexibility around Chesterfield and Newcastle, with an expectation of approximately one day per week in the office to integrate with the wider delivery team. You will also regularly visit sites to undertake inspections, scope upcoming works and ensure delivery requirements are being achieved. Key Responsibilities: Take ownership of a portfolio of high-volume reactive maintenance and small scheme works from initial scope through to completion and handover. Develop and manage delivery plans covering scope, programme, budget, resources and key project requirements. Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontract resources across multiple schemes and work locations. Manage approximately three delivery gangs, ensuring supervisors and operatives have the information, resources and support required to deliver works effectively. Scope new works, undertake regular site inspections and ensure schemes are appropriately planned and prepared before delivery. Manage project documentation, design requirements and CDM responsibilities, ensuring the necessary paperwork and assurance processes are completed throughout the lifecycle of each scheme. Coordinate and manage design teams associated with individual remits, ensuring designs support safe, compliant and efficient delivery. Monitor programme, cost, productivity and resource utilisation, adjusting delivery plans where required to maintain performance. Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with Network Rail, client, HSQE, environmental, quality and contractual requirements. Identify delivery and operational risks, implement appropriate mitigation measures and escalate significant issues where necessary. Maintain clear communication with Framework Managers, Project Managers, Commercial, HSQE, design teams and Network Rail stakeholders. Produce accurate progress, programme, risk and performance reporting across the work bank. Support inspections, audits, assurance activities and corrective actions in accordance with the company's Integrated Management System. Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, efficiency, safety, quality and overall framework performance. Essential Requirements: Previous experience delivering reactive maintenance, framework or minor works within the rail sector. Experience working in a Works Delivery Manager, Scheme Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, Agent, Senior Site Manager or similar delivery-focused position. Strong experience managing high-volume workloads and multiple schemes simultaneously within a live operational environment. Experience taking schemes through planning and preparation as well as site delivery, rather than operating solely in a Site Manager or Foreman capacity. Good understanding of rail civils, structures, earthworks or associated maintenance activities. SSSTS and PTS qualifications. Desired Requirements: Previous experience delivering reactive maintenance frameworks for Network Rail would be highly advantageous. Experience on the CAM LNE framework or similar rail maintenance framework would be particularly desirable. Knowledge of the LNE route, including East Coast, North & East and East Midlands areas, would be beneficial. First Aid, Temporary Works Coordinator and ALO Coordinator competency. Experience using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for planning and programme management. Design-related experience or qualifications. CRE competency or previous experience undertaking Contractor's Responsible Engineer responsibilities. Professional project management qualifications such as APM, PMP or PRINCE2. The Candidate: This position will suit someone accustomed to the pace and unpredictability of reactive rail maintenance. You will need to be comfortable managing competing priorities, responding quickly when requirements change and maintaining control of multiple schemes without relying on a large project support structure. You will need the resilience, ownership and practical mentality required to operate effectively in a high-churn environment while still maintaining strong standards around planning, safety, quality, commercial performance and client communication. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a substantial work bank within an established rail framework, managing schemes throughout their complete lifecycle while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement. If you are interested in applying for this role, please email your CV to Brooke Stell at Carrington West or call (phone number removed) for a confidential discussion.

T&D Glazing and Installation Limited
Facade Site Manager
T&D Glazing and Installation Limited City, Manchester
FACADE SITE MANAGER - MANCHESTER, UK UNITISED CURTAIN WALLING / FACADE INSTALLATION Direct role with T&D Glazing and Installation Limited Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per year, depending on proven experience Location: Manchester, UK Job type: Full-time, site-based Start date: Immediate, or flexible for the right person PLEASE READ THIS FIRST This is not a general construction Site Manager position. We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with experience managing the on-site installation of aluminium and glazed facade systems, particularly unitised curtain walling, on live commercial or residential projects. T&D Glazing and Installation Limited is a specialist facade installation company. Our teams install: Unitised curtain wall panels Stick curtain walling systems Aluminium windows and doors Glazing and associated facade components Our main area of work is installing unitised curtain wall systems on mid-rise and high-rise buildings. We manage and carry out the facade installation package. General experience in housebuilding, internal fit-out, civils, roofing or unrelated construction trades will not be sufficient without direct facade installation experience. Cladding experience is useful, but cladding-only experience will not replace a strong understanding of curtain walling, glazing and facade installation. If you understand how unitised panels are installed - from drawings, setting-out, brackets, interfaces and tolerances through to lifting, access, sequencing, quality and progress- please carry on reading. THE OPPORTUNITY We already have an active project in Manchester. The successful candidate could start immediately, initially support our existing management team and then move to an upcoming project. We are looking for the right person for the long term, not simply the person who can start first. If the right candidate is currently committed to another project, we are prepared to wait until that project is properly completed. We are a UK facade installation company, not a recruitment agency. You will work directly for T&D Glazing and Installation Limited. THE ROLE You will take day-to-day responsibility for our facade installation activities, ensuring that the workforce is properly planned, organised and supported so that work progresses safely, productively and to the required quality standard. Your main responsibilities will include: Managing the daily installation of unitised curtain walling and other facade systems Planning work by floor, elevation, area or installation zone and preparing realistic look-ahead plans Managing installers, team leaders and supervisors, allocating labour and monitoring productivity Reading and understanding construction drawings, installation drawings and technical details Planning labour, materials, access, deliveries, lifting operations and site resources Coordinating with the Project Manager, main contractor, QA team, QS/commercial team and senior site management Identifying missing materials, drawings, access, information or decisions before they delay installation Conducting daily start briefings and toolbox talks Ensuring work follows RAMS, Health & Safety requirements and lifting procedures Monitoring workmanship, quality, snagging and programme progress Maintaining accurate site records and producing detailed daily reports Resolving practical site problems, motivating the workforce and keeping installation moving Representing T&D professionally in meetings and communication with the client and wider project team A PRACTICAL, HANDS-ON MANAGER This is not an office-only management position. You will not be employed as a fixer and will not be expected to install panels as part of your normal daily duties. However, you must be visible in the working areas, understand exactly what the installation teams are doing and remain closely involved with supervisors and the workforce. From time to time, you must be prepared to work alongside the team, explain or demonstrate the correct method and, where safe, authorised and appropriate, physically assist with a difficult installation task. Our directors also work in this way when necessary. A good manager does not simply stand at a distance, criticise people or replace someone as soon as a problem appears. A good manager steps in, understands the problem, explains the task, demonstrates the correct approach and helps the team restore safe and productive progress. We are looking for someone who can lead by example, not only by job title. THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR You should have: At least three years of relevant facade installation management or senior supervision experience Proven experience managing the installation of unitised curtain wall systems Experience managing installers, team leaders or supervisors on live construction projects Strong knowledge of curtain walling, glazing, aluminium windows and doors Experience on mid-rise or high-rise commercial or residential projects The ability to read, understand and explain construction drawings and installation details A good understanding of sequencing, setting-out, interfaces, tolerances, access, logistics and lifting operations Strong Health & Safety awareness and practical knowledge of RAMS Strong planning, organisational, communication and people-management skills The ability to think ahead, solve problems and make practical decisions under pressure The ability to maintain accurate records and produce detailed written reports Please state clearly whether you hold SMSTS, CSCS Black or Gold Card, NVQ Level 6, First Aid at Work or other relevant management, lifting or site qualifications. WHAT MATTERS TO US We are not looking for a perfect person. We are looking for someone serious, reliable, honest, organised, technically competent and able to take responsibility. Someone who can plan ahead, communicate clearly, remain calm when problems arise and motivate the installation team even on a difficult day. A safe and well-organised site is a productive site. We need someone who can maintain standards, support the workforce and keep the facade installation programme moving properly. For the right person, this role can create opportunities to progress into Senior Site Management, Project Management or Contracts Management as our project requirements continue to grow. We will provide the opportunity and support. You must demonstrate what you can do and that you genuinely want to do it. ABOUT T&D T&D Glazing and Installation Limited is a UK specialist facade installation company established in 2003. For more than 20 years, we have provided experienced facade installation teams and site management for major commercial and residential projects across the UK. We currently work with a workforce of approximately 300 people across our projects, and some members of our team have worked with T&D since 2005. Our approach is straightforward: safe installation, good workmanship, reliable delivery and long-term working relationships. HOW TO APPLY We will not appoint someone simply because their CV looks impressive. We prefer a direct conversation so we can understand which facade systems and projects you have worked on, what your actual responsibilities were and how you deal with people, progress and problems on site. However, this is a management position with a salary of £60,000 - £70,000 per year. At this level, we expect serious candidates to make the effort to prepare or update their CV. Please apply through CV-Library or email an up-to-date CV wherever possible. You are also welcome to call, text, or WhatsApp me directly on (phone number removed). I am usually available until late. If I do not answer, please send me your name, Facade Site Manager - Manchester and a brief explanation of why you are contacting me, and I will get back to you. If you genuinely do not have an updated CV, send a detailed email explaining your employment and project history, the curtain walling systems you have managed, your responsibilities, the size of the teams you managed, your qualifications, current location, availability and why you believe you are suitable for the position. A one-line message saying only "I am interested" will not provide enough information for us to assess you for a management role. Suitable candidates will speak directly with me. Toni Timis Director T&D Glazing and Installation Limited If you know someone with genuine unitised curtain walling and facade installation management experience, please share this vacancy with them.

Cityscape Recruitment
Technical Project Manager
Cityscape Recruitment
About the company: Our client who has regional offices throughout the UK, is an award winning contaminated land remediation contractor who offers practical solutions for brownfield regeneration and contaminated land problems. By using their extensive in-house experience, they aim to provide an unrivalled service tailored to their clients individual needs. To date, our client has successfully completed technical projects throughout the UK for local authorities, residential and commercial developers, main contractors and consultants, either in the role of principal contractor or subcontractor, which range from small spills through to large multi-technology soil and groundwater remediation/development platform preparation on brownfield regeneration sites. Our client recruits only the best people, who are motivated, dedicated and can work with a professional outlook. Having worked closely with this client for many years, I would highly recommend them as they offer an excellent working environment where they encourage professionals to grow. Furthermore, with a close management team, the business has the ability to offer a real family feel, assuring that you will be a name rather than just a number within the organisation. About the opportunity: Based upon current and anticipated workload, my client is recruiting permanently for a Project Manager who will be responsible for delivering remediation projects initially across the North West. This opportunity will combine technical expertise with hands-on project management and delivery experience. Initial projects are in Manchester and Ellesmere Port. These sites are complex, including a former oil refinery and petrochemical site, so my client is looking for a professional who is comfortable and capable of operating in these technically changing environments. About the requirements: To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a degree or HNC in a construction-related discipline (geology, civil engineering, or a similar field). Given this is a senior opportunity, my client is targeting a professional with a minimum of 6 years contracting experience within the remediation/contaminated land sector, gained whilst working for a contractor in the UK. Experience of working within the brownfield regeneration sector is essential. Due to the challenging nature of the work, experience with PFAS assessments and operating soil treatment facilities would be a significant advantage for the role. Additionally, whilst the initial long-term projects are in the North West of England, future projects can be anywhere in the UK, so you must be willing to travel and work away when required and hold a full UK driving license. About the benefits and rewards: For this opportunity, my client is targeting professionals who are looking to earn anywhere between £60,000 - £65,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability. Additionally, there will be a generous package offered in addition to other benefits associated with a large successful company. How to apply: If interested in this opportunity, please send a copy of your CV to me or call the main office to discuss further on a confidential basis.
