Engineering Manager

Mobile Applications, React Native, Node.JS, Typescript.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager with a background in the design and build of enterprise Mobile applications primarily in React Native and Node.JS. The role is 75% team management and 25% hands-on.

Responsibilities:

• Lead & develop engineers: Provide line management for 2-5 engineers, coach less-experienced developers, build a collaborative team culture.
• Drive technical delivery & software quality: Contribute hands-on to coding (React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, microservices), guide clean architecture practices, manage technical debt, and ensure high-quality, secure, maintainable software.
• Promote effective agile practices: Improve team effectiveness through inspection & adaptation, support Scrum ways of working, encourage pair programming, small batch delivery, and strong CI/CD habits.
• Cross-team leadership & alignment: Foster alignment across teams, remove blockers, ensure dependencies are well understood, facilitate discussions, and drive shared strategic goals.
• Balance technical strategy with business value: Make decisions that connect engineering choices to business outcomes; ensure software is customer-focused, resilient, secure, and contributes high value quickly.

The company operate a hybrid working model with typically one team day per week in the London office.
