Job Purpose: To conduct asbestos surveys in domestic, commercial, and industrial properties, ensuring full compliance with relevant health and safety legislation. The Asbestos Surveyor will identify, assess, and document asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), supporting clients in managing asbestos risks safely and legally. Key Responsibilities: Carry out Management, Refurbishment, and Demolition Asbestos Surveys in line with HSE guidance. Inspect and assess buildings for the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). Take bulk samples of suspect materials safely for laboratory analysis. Use survey software or data capture tools to record findings and produce clear, detailed reports. Liaise with clients, site personnel, and contractors to coordinate access and ensure minimal disruption. Assess the condition, location, and type of ACMs and determine appropriate risk assessments. Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with asbestos regulations and health & safety protocols at all times. Occasionally assist with asbestos re-inspections, air testing, and clearance certification (if qualified). Requirements: Essential: BOHS P402 certification (or equivalent) Full UK driving licence (or applicable local requirement) Working knowledge of asbestos legislation (e.g., Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012) Experience conducting surveys in domestic, commercial, or industrial settings Strong attention to detail and report writing skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Desirable: BOHS P403/P404 (Air Monitoring & Clearance Procedures) Experience using asbestos survey/reporting software CSCS card (UK) or other site access certification First Aid/Health & Safety training
