The Role:
UPVC Maintenance Supplies is a family run business selling window and door hardware to our customers across the UK from our trade counters in Birstall and Rotherham.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis (26 hours per week). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for flexible working hours within a supportive and dynamic business environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing credit control, including chasing outstanding payments, managing discrepancies and resolving disputes whilst maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Inputting purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Raising and resolving invoice disputes with suppliers
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
- Completing weekly bank reconciliations
- Carrying out daily sales reconciliations
- Managing and reconciling petty cash
- Providing general administrative support to meet the needs of the business
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks as required
What We re Looking For:
- Experience in a similar finance or accounts role
- Strong working knowledge of accounting processes and reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with customers and suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
