We're working with a well-established specialist contractor within the ground engineering and remediation sector who are looking to bring in an experienced Commercial Manager to support their continued growth.

This is a key hire for the business and would suit someone with a strong Quantity Surveying background who is comfortable managing contracts and taking ownership of the commercial side of projects from start to finish.

The role:

You'll be responsible for overseeing the commercial performance across a range of projects, working closely with operational teams and senior management.

Key duties will include:

• Managing project costs, forecasts and financial reporting
• Overseeing contracts (NEC / JCT) and dealing with variations and claims
• Leading on final accounts and commercial negotiations
• Supporting tenders and pricing
• Managing and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
• Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

What we're looking for:

• A background in Quantity Surveying (degree or equivalent)
• Solid experience in a commercial role within construction, civils or groundworks
• Good working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
• Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on

Experience in ground engineering, remediation, piling or civil engineering would be a big advantage, but not essential.
