Conveyancing Practice Lead

Remote Working

(1 day a month office- South Coast)

Conveyancing Practice Lead - Real Influence, Remote Role - Modern Technology Lead Firm - Focused on Growth

We're working with a modern legal business that's doing things a bit differently. They've built a strong legal business with a successful conveyancing operation at the forefront of it's practice built around experienced consultants and case handlers, and they're now looking for a Practice Lead to provide the legal oversight and technical expertise that keeps everything running smoothly.

  • This isn't a fee-earning treadmill role. It's about leading from the front, supporting the team, and making sure the legal work is watertight.
  • You'll be the person others turn to when something tricky lands on their desk.
  • The role is remote, with one day a month required at head office, for team connection and planning.
The Role

You'll be the centre of the conveyancing team, providing guidance, technical oversight and support across a wide range of residential matters including:

  • Sales and purchases
  • Transfers of title
  • Remortgages
  • Lender work
  • Building Safety Act considerations

You'll help keep matters progressing, answer technical questions from consultants and case handlers, and ensure files meet the right legal and regulatory standards.

It's a hands-on leadership role, but without the expectation of carrying a heavy personal caseload.

The Day to Day
  • Supervising & Supporting the Team
  • Act as the go-to technical expert for residential conveyancing queries and complex matters.
  • Provide guidance across the full conveyancing process and help the team resolve issues quickly and confidently.

Compliance & Risk

  • Carry out file reviews and ensure matters meet regulatory and lender requirements.
  • Maintain strong standards around AML, client care and record keeping.
  • Ensure work aligns with SRA / CLC rules and CQS expectations.

Keeping Things Moving

  • Support the day-to-day flow of work in a busy conveyancing environment.
  • Spot problems early and help remove blockers so matters can progress smoothly towards completion.

Quality Assurance

  • Review and sign off key documents and pre-completion packs.
  • Make sure everything is legally sound and lender compliant before submission.

Advising on Complex Matters

  • Provide clear, practical advice to consultants when unusual or non-standard issues arise.
  • You'll be the person who helps the team find solutions rather than hit roadblocks.
What you'll Bring to the Table

Solid residential conveyancing experience and the confidence to support others.

Typically this will include:

  • 5+ years' residential conveyancing experience
  • Qualified as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer (CLC) or CILEX
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role
  • Strong experience dealing with lenders and mortgage work
  • Knowledge across the full conveyancing process, including Building Safety Act considerations
  • Experience reviewing files and supervising other conveyancers

A hands on approach to work, personable and approachable individual with a practical and solutions-focused outlook.
