Day-to-Day
- Working on a variety of projects across different sectors of the built environment.
- Conducting energy modelling and analysis to inform design decisions.
- Collaborating with clients and project teams to develop innovative, sustainable solutions.
- Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in building physics, energy modelling, and sustainability.
- Contributing to research and development initiatives to advance the field of sustainable building design.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed energy modelling and analysis using IES, SAP, and SBEM software to support sustainable building design.
- Collaborate with architects, M&E engineers, and contractors to develop innovative, low-energy building solutions.
- Provide expert advice on building physics, energy performance, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Contribute to the design and optimisation of naturally ventilated buildings and open-plan spaces.
- Support the development of strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in the built environment.
- Participate in research and development initiatives to drive innovation in sustainable building practices.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in energy modelling and analysis using IES, SAP, and SBEM software.
- A strong understanding of building physics, energy performance, and sustainability principles.
- A degree in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, or environmental science.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A proactive, mission-driven mindset with a passion for creating sustainable, low-energy buildings.
- Familiarity with UK building regulations and standards related to energy performance and sustainability.
