Job Description

We are seeking a hands on Build Technician to work across both mechanical and electrical systems within a highly collaborative engineering environment. You will play a key role in bringing prototype vehicles to life, even when working on the existing product line, supporting rapid iteration, development cycles and high quality vehicle build.

The Build Technician will:
  • Build and assemble mechanical and electrical vehicle systems following engineering drawings, parts lists and step by step assembly guides.
  • Support prototype vehicle development, applying rapid iteration and fault finding to resolve build challenges.
  • Contribute to daily morning meetings with the build and production teams to plan work and review progress.
  • Work across both main build bays and the sub assembly area, delivering high quality work across 28 major sub assembly groups.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding and basic diagnostics as part of vehicle build and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate, efficient and repeatable build processes.

The Build Technician will have:
  • A recognised Level 3 qualification (NVQ, Apprenticeship or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or Motorsport Engineering.
  • Strong experience working on mechanical prototype builds or race car style environments, where processes mirror sub assembly precision.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists; CAD viewing capability (NX experience desirable)
  • Hands on experience with electrical systems, wiring and vehicle fault finding.
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with the ability to "hit the ground running" in a fast paced build environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially when working cross functionally with engineering and production.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced build technician who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys problem solving and takes pride in delivering high quality vehicle builds. If you're a skilled Vehicle Build Technician who enjoys working on innovative programmes and fast paced prototype builds, we'd love to hear from you.
