Job Description

Electronics Engineer - IoT & Low-Power Systems
Stroud

KO2's client, a well-funded and rapidly growing startup based in Stroud, is looking for a Microelectronics Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys taking ideas from early concept through to PCB design, prototyping, and manufacture.

The company is developing innovative low-power connected devices and is seeking someone with experience in acoustic sensing, IoT connectivity, and ultra-low-power electronics to help bring new products to life.

The Role

As a Microelectronics Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of next-generation sensing hardware. You'll work across the full product lifecycle - from concept and architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and preparing designs for manufacturing.

This is a highly hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building, testing, and refining real hardware in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop low-power electronic systems for IoT applications
  • Work on acoustic sensor integration and signal acquisition
  • Design schematics and PCB layouts for embedded hardware
  • Develop solutions using LoRa and other low-power wireless technologies
  • Prototype, test, and debug hardware systems
  • Support the transition from prototype to production and manufacture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware and product engineering

Skills & Experience

We're looking for engineers with experience in several of the following areas:

  • Microelectronics or embedded hardware design
  • Acoustic sensors or signal acquisition systems
  • LoRa / LPWAN wireless communication
  • IoT device development
  • Ultra-low-power electronics design
  • Schematic capture and PCB design
  • Taking products from concept through to manufacturing

If you're an engineer who enjoys building real hardware, solving complex sensing challenges, and delivering products from idea to production, we'd love to hear from you.
