Electrical Design Engineer - Birmingham

Role title: Electrical Design Engineer (Permanent)

iO are currently partnered with a Birmingham based business who specialise in the design of high integrity electrical and lighting systems for harsh environments. They are now on the lookout for an experience Electrical Design Engineer to join on a permanent basis.

Their origins lie within the marine and defence industry, however the scope of application for their products and spills into other high hazard industries such as oil & gas, nuclear & rail.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in electrical system design, including schematics and 3D modelling for control panels or switchgear - EPLAN essential
• Knowledge of designing for shock, vibration, EMC, or hazardous areas (ATEX/MIL-STD).
• Proven ability to take a project from specification through to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Previous experience working in highly regulated environment (Defence, Oil & Gas, Nuclear etc)
• Skilled in 2D/3D CAD software and comfortable with complex power distribution systems.
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) due to the nature of our defence contracts.
