HR Manager

Location: Cambridge (CB25)

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 per week 8am - 4pm (Monday to Friday)

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our client based a few miles north of Cambridge. You will be working for a well established technology and engineering organisation and have the opportunity to shape HR processes as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate will be confident operating in a standalone or small HR function and comfortable managing the full employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee day to day HR operations across the business

- Provide guidance on employee relations, policies, and best practice

- Lead recruitment activities and support hiring managers

- Manage onboarding, performance reviews, and development processes

- Ensure HR compliance in line with current legislation

- Contribute to HR strategy, culture initiatives, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

- Proven experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role

- Strong understanding of UK employment law with experience writing and reviewing policies and procedures

- Excellent communication, people skills, and problem solving ability

- Confident managing a broad generalist HR workload

- Knowledge of HRIS systems

- CIPD qualification (preferred but not essential)

- Experience in a manufacturing / engineering SME useful
