Job Title: HVDC Engineer
Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35)
Duration: 12 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote (UK / Europe considered)

Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced HVDC Engineer to support the design and engineering activities on a major power transmission project. This is a 12-month contract role, working outside IR35, with a remote working setup.

The successful candidate will support engineering teams across HVDC system design, ensuring technical deliverables are produced to a high standard and aligned with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and engineering activities associated with HVDC transmission systems.

  • Review and contribute to technical documentation, design packages, and engineering studies.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, control, and system design.

  • Provide technical input into HVDC system architecture, equipment specifications, and interfaces.

  • Support design reviews and technical assessments throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure engineering deliverables align with industry standards, project requirements, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to support timely delivery of design outputs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as an HVDC Engineer or in a similar role on large-scale power transmission projects.

  • Strong understanding of HVDC systems, converter stations, and high voltage power transmission.

  • Experience supporting engineering design, technical studies, and project documentation.

  • Background in power systems, electrical engineering, or transmission infrastructure.

  • Ability to work effectively within remote and distributed engineering teams.

  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
