Service Advisor

We are working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Service Advisor for their well-established automotive service department in Colchester, Essex.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional with a background in independent garages or main dealer environments to join a dynamic, customer-focused business committed to excellence.

The successful Service Advisor will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a seamless process from initial contact to vehicle collection.

Duties as a Service Advisor:

• Welcoming customers in person and over the phone
• Booking vehicles for servicing, repairs, and MOTs accurately and efficiently
• Handling payments, invoicing, and administrative duties with precision
• Responding to customer enquiries and providing updates throughout the service process
• Liaising with technicians and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations
• Maintaining accurate customer records and booking information
• Supporting the team to deliver excellent customer service and meet targets
• Adhering to health and safety policies and company standards

Requirements in this Service Advisor role:

• Previous experience working as a Service Advisor within an automotive service or MOT centre
• Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficient in booking systems, Microsoft Office, and email applications
• Ability to stay calm and professional in busy environments
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team
• Experience handling payments, invoicing, and administrative tasks
• Passionate about delivering high standards of customer service
