Location: South Midlands
Contract: Mid-April 2026 Dec / Jan 2027 - Possible extension
Site Based: 5 days per week

Project & Role Overview

An upgrade project at an operational wastewater treatment works in the South Midlands is progressing through its main construction phase, delivering new treatment processes and expanding the capability of the existing facility.

A MEICA Project Engineer is required to support the technical delivery of the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control scope across procurement, installation and commissioning. Working alongside the MEICA Site Lead and project team, the role will ensure that new process equipment and associated electrical and control systems are installed and integrated correctly within the existing works.

The position will work closely with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to support installation quality, resolve technical queries and ensure the project progresses smoothly into commissioning and operational handover. During the commissioning and reliability phase there will be participation in a standby / call-out rota providing out-of-hours support.

Core Duties

• Support the MEICA Site Lead in the technical delivery of MEICA works across the project
• Review subcontractor designs, technical submissions and equipment specifications
• Assist with coordination of installation activities across mechanical, electrical and ICA systems
• Manage technical queries, design clarifications and engineering changes during construction
• Witness inspections and testing activities in line with project quality requirements
• Support implementation of MEICA inspection and test plans
• Monitor subcontractor installation quality and progress against programme
• Assist with commissioning preparation including system checks and documentation
• Support site acceptance testing and integrated commissioning activities
• Contribute to preparation of as-built documentation and handover records
