Job Description
This is a broad and varied legal support role to assist with the smooth running of the Compliance & Legal Department, support the Head of Legal & Compliance and the legal team.
The role is to support the Head of Compliance and the corporate legal team in all aspects of legal administration and compliance procedures relating to the financial/commodities markets. This role is ideally suited to a Law Graduate with 1 year's post study professional qualifications or Legal Assistant with experience of working in a
legal or compliance team either from a Law Practice or Corporate/Company Secretariat (inhouse) setting. A banking or financial services background preferable or interest to move into this sector as
Amongst the responsibilities of the Legal & Compliance Assistant will be:
- Scheduling and attending board meetings & committee meetings
- Writing meeting minutes and circulating tot the directors Preparing and proofreading documentation
- Communication with other global offices
- Filings to Companies House
- Undertaking Legal research
- Preparing Board packs, minuting board meetings, and circulating board resolutions
- Undertaking KYC checks
- Preparing Presentations
- Drafting and negotiation of contracts
Legal & Compliance Assistant - what we're looking for:
- 12 months post grad paralegal or Compliance Legal Assistant experience from a law practice or in house corporate setting
- A graduate in Law or a related subject or possessing similar level of qualification.
- Passion for legal and regulatory work
- Ability to manage a varied workload in a deadline driven environment.
- A Team player who can also work autonomously
