What does the role look like?
We are looking for a dynamic HSE Environmental and Sustainability Advisor to join our Actuation Systems team at our Banbury site.
This is a key role in supporting the Senior HSE Advisor with a focus on Environmental Sustainability, this person will be responsible for guiding and ensuring compliance through implementation, updating, reviewing and auditing of the Company and legal program requirements.
Maintaining and improving an effective EHS management system and audit its effectiveness. Providing core and specialist training and development opportunities. Guide and mentor in trouble shooting, resolving problems and identifying improvement opportunities. Taking a leading role in decision making and accountability, ensuring that the EH&S function across site is above expectations
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Developing and managing HSE Programs in adherence with corporate requirements Play a leading role in external and internal audits (compliance audits, annual reviews, 14001)
Maintaining our environmental objectives and sustainability best management practices
Implement aspects of an HSE management system including local regulatory requirements applicable to the site(s)
Interface with regulatory agencies on HSE matters & participate in EHS audits as appropriate
Contribute to HSE committee effectiveness
To provide information, training and instruction and advice to operational management and employees
Prioritise and manage site risk through risk assessment and Job Hazard Analysis and business continuity
Assist operations with Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis. Ensure injury and illness cases are effectively managed to closure through use of an incident management system
Report the sites monthly Environmental Health and Safety metrics
Organise training in accordance with training plan
Monitor closure of action items
Essential Skills:
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to influence and work across multiple teams
Demonstrable experience in a HSE Advisor or similar role, with a strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and incident investigation
Desirable Skills:
Experience of providing information, training and instruction and advice to operational management and employees
Prioritisation skills to manage site risk through risk assessment and Job Hazard Analysis and business continuity
Experience of assisting operations with Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis. Ensure injury and illness cases are effectively managed to closure through use of an incident management system
Tech or Grad IOSH, IEMA
NEBOSH Certificate or working towards
NEBOSH diploma, CITB, IOSH, etc.
