Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant - Long-Term Temporary (with Potential for Permanent Role)

Salary: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive college in Merseyside. This long-term temporary position offers the opportunity to grow into a permanent role for the right candidate.

You will work closely with teaching staff to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, build independence, and achieve their full potential in a further education setting.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN

• Assist students with a variety of additional needs, including learning difficulties, autism, and social/emotional needs

• Support learners in accessing course materials and participating in classroom activities

• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning

• Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and wider support teams

• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff as required

• Experience working with young people or adults with SEN

• Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

• Proactive, flexible, and adaptable

• Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN, or support work (desirable but not essential)
