Thomas Search are working on behalf of an independent consultancy to appoint a Chartered Quantity Surveyor into their growing and successful Cost consultancy team.
You will work on a wide and varied portfolio of projects in a commercial environment, supporting an enviable national client base.
This is a client-facing role offering early responsibility, structured support, and excellent long-term career progression within a flexible and collaborative working environment. Will play a key part in supporting business growth by delivering high-calibre, commercially focused cost consultancy advice across a range of sectors.

What You'll do:

  • Contract administration with detailed knowledge of standard forms of contract including JCT Minor Works, Intermediate and Standard Building Contracts (experience of NEC, GC Works and PPC 2000 desirable)
  • Cost planning and estimating
  • Understanding of procurement routes and strategies
  • Preparation of tender and contract documentation, including Schedules of Works and Bills of Quantities
  • Measurement (manual and CAD Measure) with a sound understanding of construction processes
  • Knowledge of Reinstatement Cost Assessments
  • Strong understanding of material costings and sourcing cost data

What We are looking for:

  • Independent delivery of procurement, including single-stage and two-stage tendering
  • Cost consultancy experience across commercial, residential and retail sectors
  • Demonstrable experience of effective client relationship management
  • Proven ability to deliver end-to-end commercial cost consultancy services
  • Experience working with a variety of contract forms
  • Strong team player
  • Confident, professional communicator (written and verbal)
  • Commercially aware
  • Client-focused, with a desire to exceed expectations
  • Enthusiastic and proactive
  • Highly accurate with strong attention to detail
