General Foreman

We are currently recruiting for an experienced General Foreman to join a wastewater treatment scheme in Leeds, with an immediate start available. This is a great opportunity to work with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering key infrastructure works within a regulated water environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Supervising day-to-day site operations on a wastewater treatment project
• Managing subcontractors, direct labour, and plant on site
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
• Overseeing civil works including drainage, concrete structures, pipework, and ducting
• Delivering daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions
• Working closely with the Site Agent and Engineers to ensure smooth project delivery
• Monitoring productivity and reporting progress to senior management
• Maintaining high standards of quality and ensuring QA processes are followed
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a General Foreman on wastewater or sewage treatment schemes
• Strong civil engineering background within the utilities sector
• Experience managing multiple work fronts and site teams
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
• Valid CSCS card
• First Aid at Work (preferred)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
