QA Tester
Pay of £38,772 plus 28.97% employer pension contributions, hybrid working, flexible hours, and great work life balance.
DWP. Digital with Purpose.
We are looking for a QA Tester in our Collaboration and Communication Services team to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.
We're using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.
DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people.
The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
You and your role
As a QA Tester, you'll spend your days diving into different digital products, figuring out what needs to be tested and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. You'll get to know the requirements inside out so you can design the right tests, create any test data you need, and run everything from manual checks to automated scripts using tools like Cypress, Playwright, Zephyr or TestComplete. When something breaks, you'll log it, track it, and help the team understand what went wrong.
A big part of the role is helping the team work smarter, using automation where it makes sense, suggesting improvements to how testing is done, and getting involved in conversations about best practices. You'll also take accessibility seriously, making sure products meet WCAG 2.2 standards. Throughout it all, you'll be part of a supportive test community, sharing what you learn, contributing ideas and helping keep everything aligned with government standards. It's a mix of hands on testing, problem solving, collaborating, and constantly finding ways to level up how the team works.
