Export Control Officer

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a defence engineering company based in the UK. We design, manufacture and support military vehicles used by the British Army and international customers.

We are currently seeking an experienced Export Control Officer to join our established and supportive Export control Team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the business the business operates in full compliance with export control regulations.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the business in implementing export control policies & procedures in the RBSL business and improving export controls processes and user guides.
• Help business colleagues at all levels of the business comply with export control laws and regulations.
• Act as a key point of contact for day to day advice and guidance on export control.
• Support the business during audits (both internal and external).
• Draft and submit requests for export licences and authorisations.
• Support investigations to identify corrective actions and implement improvements.
• Undertake Export Control Investigations, draft Disclosure letters, identify corrective actions close out and lead root cause analysis and lessons learned reviews.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

• A practical knowledge of applying UK export controls in a business environment is essential.
• A knowledge of US or German export controls would be helpful but is not essential.
• Knowledge of or experience in the defence industry would be helpful.
• IT Competent
• Security cleared or the ability to attain and maintain a UK security clearance up to SC level - Mandatory
• A proactive approach to communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
