The Opportunity

Ballantine Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a highly regarded, premium British food brand to appoint a Senior Packaging Technologist.

The Role

As Senior Packaging Technologist, you will play a key role in delivering innovative, high-end packaging solutions across a diverse and premium product range.

You will take ownership of projects from concept through to launch, ensuring packaging reflects the brand s commitment to excellence, sustainability, and standout shelf presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of premium, design-led packaging formats
• Manage projects from concept through to factory implementation
• Specify materials, finishes, and print processes aligned with brand standards
• Ensure compliance with food safety, legal, and retailer requirements
• Drive sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement
• Work closely with NPD, Marketing, Procurement, and external suppliers
• Conduct packaging trials and support production scale-up
• Manage and develop supplier relationships

About You

• Proven experience in food packaging development, ideally within a branded or premium environment
• Strong knowledge of materials, print processes, and packaging technologies
• Experience delivering projects from concept through to launch
• Commercially aware with strong project management skills
• High attention to detail and a passion for quality and design
• Confident working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders
