Prototype / R&D Technician Automotive Audio Systems
Our UK-based automotive customer is seeking a hands-on, motivated Prototype / R&D Technician to support the development and testing of cutting-edge audio systems within vehicles. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their engineering career or an experienced technician looking to work in an innovative R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the assembly of prototype audio systems in and out of vehicles
- Assist with testing and validation of prototype systems, including high-voltage testing
- Help manage and procure tools, equipment, and components
- Assist with vehicle interior strip-down and rebuild
- Support wiring harness assembly and electrical integration
- Carry out soldering of cables and connectors (training can be provided)
- Perform material handling and use of hand tools (cutting, drilling, filing, etc.)
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance while on-site
- Monitor vehicle condition, fuel levels, and battery status
- Maintain stock levels and order required supplies
What We re Looking For
- Level 3 engineering apprentice (completed or in progress), college student, or recent graduate in a relevant field
- Alternatively, an experienced technician with a strong practical background
- Hands-on experience with tools and mechanical/electrical tasks
- Strong willingness to learn new skills and develop within an R&D environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with electrical, audio, and mechanical teams
- Good attention to detail and a proactive attitude
