Job Description

Adkins & Cheurfi are pleased to be recruiting for a Head Chef to join a large, independent seaside hotel in Sunderland. Following a recent refurbishment, the property offers exceptional facilities including two restaurants, a large events space, and a brand-new conference and events venue opening soon. The hotel operates year-round and caters to a wide range of guests, including weddings and events of up to 300 attendees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the hotel s kitchen operations, including both restaurant and banqueting services
  • Design, develop, and regularly update menus across all outlets and events
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to enhance the overall food offering
  • Incorporate seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Oversee kitchen team performance, training, and development
  • Maintain strict health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and kitchen budgets

About You
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up
  • Strong background in both restaurant and banqueting operations
  • Creative, ambitious, and passionate about delivering high-quality food
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of the local area and suppliers is highly desirable
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
