Job Description:
Responsible for overseeing stock levels, coordinating purchasing activities, and ensuring effective inventory management in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. This role involves managing procurement processes, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining efficient stock levels to meet operational demands. Strong Excel skills are required, along with experience using SAP or other ERP systems for stock control, procurement, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring availability of raw materials and packaging to meet production schedules.
- Work collaboratively to understand product ranges, usage, and planning requirements.
- Develop an understanding of planning processes and contribute to improvements in systems and methodologies.
- Coordinate stock levels with planning requirements and production processes.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate contracts, secure competitive pricing, review market options, and ensure timely delivery.
- Use ERP/MRP systems to track inventory, generate reports, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Create and maintain reporting trackers for senior stakeholders, providing regular updates.
- Collaborate with operations and planning teams to forecast material requirements and place purchase orders.
- Manage workload effectively and respond to communications in a timely manner.
- Analyse stock trends and consumption patterns to minimise excess stock and prevent shortages.
- Support stock count processes, investigating discrepancies and variances.
- Work with relevant teams to resolve stock-related issues identified during analysis.
