Job Description

Chetham s School of Music is seeking a Music Timetable and Administration Officer to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in Manchester city centre. Chetham s is a magical place, home to the UK s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The Job

• Chetham s School of Music seeks a highly organised and entirely dependable Music Timetable and Administration Officer. You will take responsibility for scheduling the weekly instrumental timetables for the UK s largest specialist music school.
• You will demonstrate logic and problem solving skills in abundance with a student focused approachability in manner.
• Anticipated working hours: 21 hours per week, 43 weeks per year (term-time plus 7).
• A regular working pattern can be structured by negotiation but would need to fit within Monday to Friday 8.30am 5.30pm. Please state your preferred working hours on application.
• This role is suited to only very limited hybrid working (occasional days worked from home).
• Non term-time hours can be worked with greater flexibility at the discretion of the Music Department Manager but need to fulfil the demands and deadlines in accordance with the role.
• Start date May 2026, subject to recruitment checks.
• Fixed-term until January 2027, with the possibility for extension beyond this date.

• Starting salary SCP 17 £15,538.59 to £16,096.42 per annum (£29,086.77 to £30,130.98 per annum FTE)
