This role is based at their state-of-the-art facility in Gosport, where innovative technologies are at the forefront of their mission to empower and protect lives. Key Responsibilities: Act as a Senior Engineer, combining subject matter expertise and sound engineering judgement to solve problems. Break down complex tasks and execute the planned schedule of work. Collaborate with Project Management to task and control work conducted by technical teams. Mentor others to enhance knowledge in mechanical and structural engineering within the broader team. Encourage collaboration across technical teams and work with Safety Engineering to ensure compliance with regulations. Apply consistent governance across technical programmes and act as an independent reviewer where suitable. Job Requirements: Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering, including design processes and manufacturing principles. Thorough understanding of safety regulations and applicable regulatory requirements. Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Siemens NX or SolidWorks. Experience designing structures to recognised industry standards (Maritime, Defence, or Civil). Skilled in designing both metallic and composite structures. Competent in performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on complex structures and systems. BEng in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture or equivalent demonstrable experience.
