Manufacturing Engineer

Job Role: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Leicester

Salary: 45,000 - 58,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Metalis are working with an Aerospace manufacturer who are looking for 2x Manufacturing Engineers to join their team.

Job Duties:

• Attend Daily Operations meetings and resolve problems assigned to the ME function
• Understand value stream constraints and participate in problem-solving to improve flow
• Create, update, and maintain manufacturing documentation (e.g. set-up packs, drawings, work instructions, SOPs)
• Manage NPDI process milestones, completing all required ME tasks (e.g., cost estimates, stage drawings, manufacturing routes, approvals)
• Ensure tooling and fixtures are designed, manufactured, and available for safe and efficient production
• Use engineering software to create and validate CNC programs that meet quality and cycle time requirements
• Support continuous improvement through LEAN/GEMBA events and generate ideas to enhance EHS, quality, cost and delivery
• Apply problem-solving methods to identify root causes and improve process and quality performance
• Participate in problem-solving peer reviews and training to strengthen organizational problem-solving culture
• Implement or manage problem solutions, including working with suppliers/customers, testing technologies, and completing PFMEA activities
• Engage in internal and external audits and address gaps by implementing corrective actions

Job Requirements:

• 5 years' experience in the Aerospace/Automotive industry in a similar role
• Qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar
• Knowledge of CNC machining
• CAD/CAM experience
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Project)

Salary & Hours:

• 45,000 - 58,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Monday to Thursday, 8am - 4:30pm & Friday, 8am - 2pm
