Gas Technician
Exciting opportunity for a hands-on Gas Technician to join its Bishop Auckland facility, which specializes in flow testing and calibration of gas systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, outdoor tasks, and developing technical expertise in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and construction: Large-scale test rigs, gas storage/piping systems, and gas distribution systems.
- Maintenance & inspections: Regular upkeep of test rigs and site infrastructure.
- Safety & compliance: Emergency planning, HAZIDs, adherence to safety regulations.
- Teamwork & communication: Collaborate effectively with colleagues on technical tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Gas industry experience with one of the following:
- City & Guilds 662-2 Level 3 Certificate for Service Engineers (GAS)
- Level 3 NVQs (6006, 6012, 6013) in Gas Services or Installation & Maintenance
- ACS qualifications:
- Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1)
- CoNGLP1 PD
- Alternative consideration for candidates with:
- NVQ in General/Mechanical Engineering
- HNC in Gas/Mechanical Engineering
- Additional skills: Organisation, initiative, flexibility, strong communication, safety awareness
