Job Title: Engineering Technician

12 month contract

Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team, supporting engineering R&D projects with a wide range of development testing activities. This role involves close collaboration with small technical teams and the creation and modification of technical documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Support in-house engineering R&D teams with various tasks including laboratory and development testing.
  • Design, set up, and operate mechanical and electronic testing apparatus and procedures.
  • Collect and process data using Excel and Python.
  • Report test results to the team and proactively devise new tests based on obtained results.
  • Utilise basic 3D CAD skills to support the design and build of test equipment.
  • Engage in workshop and 3D printing tasks.
  • Provide continuous and effective technical communication to all team members through digital communications, reports, and day-to-day conversations.

Essential Skills

  • Engineering verification and validation.
  • Understanding of apparatus such as oscilloscopes and data loggers.
  • Workshop skills including the use of basic power tools and hand tools.
  • Working in small, fast-moving engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
  • Skilled in using Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic 3D CAD skills.
  • Familiarity with Python for data processing is desirable.
