Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - SC Location: Lichfield (3 days/week on site/Hybrid) Contract Duration : 51 working days Daily Rate: £ 635.75/day (Umbrella Maximum) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Security Clearance: SC We are a team of 4 quantity surveyors and 2 apprentices(starting April/May 2026) who produce should-cost models and pricing booklets for FM projects valued at over £100m across the UK Defence estate. This involves using part in-house historical cost data and BCIS to provide estimates of the forecasted value of the contracts. For the pricing booklets, we work very closely with commercial teams to build models suitable for the various projects on both hard FM and soft FM. We support the pricing evaluation of the projects by reviewing the tenders and raising queries. We also prepare tender reports to be included in the final business case. We provide ad-hoc pricing and estimating support and check in-house data for inaccuracies and anomalies. Role: To work independently and provide cost estimates for FM projects using in-house data and/or BCIS. To build pricing booklets using excel. Liaising with commercial teams on model build and templates. To provide analysis of tender bids to support business cases including preparing tender reports in Microsoft word. Quantity Surveyor Aberdeen Civils & Utilities Looking for a Quantity Surveyor role where you can take real ownership of projects, rather than just reporting into layers of management? This opportunity is with a well-established, family-run civil engineering contractor delivering projects across the North of Scotland, including civils, HDD, multi-utilities and renewable infrastructure. What you ll be doing You ll take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from award through to final account, working closely with operational teams on live sites. Your role will include: Managing project costs, valuations, and variations throughout delivery Preparing and submitting applications for payment Procuring and managing subcontractors Monitoring project performance and reporting on commercial position Identifying risks and opportunities across projects Supporting site and project teams with commercial decision-making This is a hands-on role where you ll be closely involved in how projects are delivered day-to-day. What you ll need Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities, or groundworks Ability to manage projects commercially from start through to final account Strong communication skills working with site teams, clients, and subcontractors Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects You ll likely have at least 3+ years experience in a QS role, but the level can flex depending on your background.
