You'll be driving hooklift & skiploader vehicles. If you have no experience in these vehicle types, or a similar industry, don't worry, we would still like to hear from you. Job Overview Job Title: Mobile HGV Technician - covering 3.5t, 7.5t, 18t and 26t Location: Sheffield - covering our satellites depots Salary: £21 / hr. Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Reporting to : Fleet Manager We are a reputable and growing customer focused supply partner, and our main objective is to ensure that we provide clients with best possible solution to their hire, service, repair and maintenance, as well as purchase options of pump, waste tanker, and ancillary products and services Job Description We are looking for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to join our team in Sheffield. This role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work independently, performing maintenance and repairs across multiple sites. You will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet remain safe, reliable, and roadworthy. This is a day shift role, providing a stable schedule and excellent earning potential, based in Sheffield but being required to travel to our satellite depots, every other weekend (Newton Aycliffe, Bromsgrove, Cambridge, Taunton, Basingstoke, Romford). This can involve staying away overnight, the cost of which will be paid by the Company, when weekend work required you will have a day off during the week. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs of a wide range of vehicles (3.5t, 7.5t, 18t, 26t) at various sites. Your expertise in vehicle mechanics, coupled with your ability to work independently, will ensure that our fleet remains in top condition, minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety of our drivers. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on a wide range of vehicles. Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet Company standards and health and safety regulations. Accurately complete service records, job sheets, and inspection paperwork. Maintain a well-stocked, organized mobile toolkit and ensure all parts and equipment are accounted for. Build strong working relationships with colleagues and provide a high standard of service. Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment both on-site and while traveling Your expertise in vehicle mechanics, coupled with your ability to work independently, will ensure that our fleet remains in top condition, minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety of our drivers Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including DVSA requirements. Skills BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification with at least 2 years of experience in vehicle maintenance Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role, ideally in a mobile capacity. Experience in working on Mercedes Sprinter (2019 - 2025) Valid HGV Class 1 or 2 license - essential. Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently on-site. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
