Senior Design Engineer - Earthing Cardiff Permanent Competitive + Flexible Benefits Summary Freedom's Network Services team are looking for a Senior Design Engineer within Earthing that can join an established team and hit the ground running. We are building the team further due to workload and want someone with an Engineering background in Earthing to pick up some of the growing project book, producing drawing packages and reports, as required. Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Manage and lead with delivering technically demanding projects. Lead all types of earthing projects from inception to completion unaided, ensuring that the project is cost effective and delivered on time. Have good commercial awareness with the ability to work closely with our clients to build a strong relationship. Mentor and provide help / guidance to Design, Assistant and Graduate Engineer's. Detailed knowledge and understanding of high voltage earthing design including very good knowledge of the CDEGS software package (MALZ, MALT and RESAP). Have the ability / understanding to be able to carry out a study within various sections of the CDEGS software package including (HI-FREQ, FCDIST, TRALIN etc.). Understand how to carry out of the unordinary complex studies such as impressed voltage assessments. Attend and chair design team meetings with the team/client via teams or in person. Provide engineering solutions to site-based problems through TQ/RFI process. Have the ability to review/authorise earthing reports and drawings to a high standard, providing constructive technical feedback to all engineering levels. Ability to confidently conduct, supervise and demonstrate site visits to carry out earthing assessments, design commissioning, and investigations after failures. What we're looking for : Degree qualified is desirable, but fundamentals from HNC/HNC is essential. Someone the is autonomous and needs little direction to get the job done. AutoCAD experience is must, but having experience of using CDEGS would be great. Lightning protection risk assessments and awareness of lightning protection design is also desirable.
