The Role As a Principal Fire Surveyor, you will: Lead and manage fire safety surveys, inspections, and fire risk assessments. External wall surveys / EWS1 Compartmentation and Fire Door surveys Provide expert technical advice on fire safety design, compliance, and strategy. Support and mentor junior surveyors, helping to develop their technical knowledge and professional progression. Work closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure best practice fire safety solutions. Oversee project delivery, ensuring high standards, accuracy, and compliance with regulations and legislation. The Principal Fire Surveyor We are looking for someone with: Significant experience in fire surveying, risk assessment, and compliance within the built environment. Chartered status (or working towards) with a recognised professional body (e.g. RICS, IFSM, IFE, CIOB). Strong working knowledge of Scottish and UK building regulations, fire safety legislation, and industry standards. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a team. Excellent communication and client-facing skills, able to build strong, long-term relationships.
