The school is led by a dedicated and experienced Principal, Liz Oakey, who has been with the school for 4 years. She has established a strong, supportive and welcoming team who together achieved a Good Ofsted where it was recognised that staff know the pupils well. They use this knowledge to raise pupils' self-esteem and ensure they are ready to learn . We teach children across KS1 and KS2 in small classes of 8-10 children, with an ambitious curriculum and increased opportunities for SEMH and personal development. We have high expectations for our pupils and all our staff work alongside the children, families and other professionals to ensure their needs are met. As a KS2 teacher you will be delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, facilitating a positive learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. You will design engaging lessons, using the sequence and resources that our schemes support you with, assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to raise standards of student attainment. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teaching staff, pastoral staff and parents to support the personal development of students, addressing their individual needs and promoting inclusivity. What you'll need to succeed You will be a qualified teacher who has patience and understanding with young children, particularly those with additional needs. You'll be able to quickly adjust teaching methods to meet the needs of all children. It's important you have the flexibility to be able to handle unexpected and sometimes challenging situations with professionalism and patience. Children with SEMH can present with a variety of needs so understanding the reasons for these, the support which they require and being solution focused is key.
