An urgent contract requirement for an Application Engineer to join a leading London Market insurance business and be responsible for the maintenance, environment design, implementation, documentation, and health monitoring of business applications and their underlying platform technologies used within the UK/EU region. Key Responsibilities Design and implement business application environment solutions, documenting the solution fully end to end. Provide 2nd and 3rd line support and troubleshooting assistance to the application support team and the wider IT team to identify and rectify system errors, performance issues and/or bottlenecks. Work with IT delivery teams to develop and test application enhancements using appropriate lower environments. Evaluate application environment architecture and infrastructure to identify necessary upgrades and improvements to meet compatibility and obsolescence objectives. Document and track all work from inception to completion, maintaining accurate records and providing performance metrics to line management. Prepare change records and deploy approved changes to system configurations and application builds. Provide requirements and instructions to other members of the IT team where required. Assist with evidence gathering and documentation for internal or external audits. Ensure logging and audit records are maintained and available with suitable retention policies applied. Identify and present to management opportunities for innovation and risk mitigation within the technical stack, including but not limited to new logging and reporting methods, technical tools and improvements to existing tools. Ensure standardised Group IT procedures and controls are upheld, maintained, and regularly reviewed to align with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines, protecting the Company against security breaches, financial crime, and matters surrounding intellectual property rights. Key Skills / Experience Over 5 years experience in a customer-facing IT system administration role. Previous experience in roles within the London insurance market. Strong proficiency in Microsoft application technologies, including SQL Server, IIS, and .NET. Familiar with IT best practices and tools (e.g., service desk and release management platforms). Experience in risk management and control design/monitoring

The ideal candidate will be an engineer with good knowledge and working experience of electronics. Familiar with design and engineering skills in CCTV, Telecoms, Radio systems, Intercom and Public Address system preferred. Communications Specialist Engineer Position Overview Ability to provide engineering support tasks from repair/fault finding to board level including soldering a must, to providing system design solutions and implementing the in-house assembly and production of such systems. This will entail from the gathering of product technical details to obtaining priced quotations from key suppliers and within the assembly and factory testing of such systems, to ensure compliance with customers key requirements. To have the ability to liaise with other team members in sharing information and to assist with the purchasing process of such items. Ideally to have some CAD drawing experience, familiar with preparing technical drawings, system handbook documentation, identifying product obsolescence and solutions with management of the latter. To act in a technical role with end users, providing telephone/email support.
