My Local Government client is looking to recruit a Group Accountant, with a focused on Capital, Tax and Treasury, to join the team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Manager your role will include: Support the Co-ordination of budgets, medium term financial plan, service plans & annual accounts closure in accordance with fixed timescales & processes for the whole of the council and at other times as required by clients. In accordance with agreed timetables/deadlines manage the accurate & timely completion of grant claims, government & other returns, publications & research to internal/external clients. Liaise with and provide financial advice & training to directors, heads of service and budget holders. On an ad-hoc basis be a member on tender evaluation & grant panels. To identify which bid offers the most economically advantageous proposal for the council based on the criteria specified in the relevant documentation and ensure the financial implications are fully understood at the outset. To immediately advise the Finance Manager/Business Partner, Head of Finance and/or Director of Finance on any issue that could affect the discharge of the statutory duties of the s151 officer.
