Senior Planning Officer - £45 per hour (negotiable DOE) 6 month contract Hybrid working (Office presence once a week - Wednesday) We're seeking an experienced Planning Officer to join a local authority's Development Management team on an interim basis. You'll be responsible for: Processing and determining planning applications for the authority's own developments (including minerals and waste) Providing clear, timely pre-application advice to applicants and stakeholders Investigating complaints and managing breaches of planning control Preparing detailed committee reports and presenting recommendations Handling appeals, conditions, and associated legal agreements Supporting input into major projects (including NSIPs) where required by management. Role: Interim Team Leader (Planning) Duration: 4-6 months initially Rate: £65 per hour Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (flexible) Hybrid working offered - ideally 2 days in the office initially (one being a Wednesday). There is no expectation for site visits unless specific concerns arise relating to the role. This is a management-level role, focused on overseeing caseloads and ensuring work is progressed efficiently through the system. You will be responsible for providing clear direction on cases, managing complex planning matters, and supporting the wider team.
