We are looking for a Caretaker to assist with an assignment that will progress week by week initially for a maximum of 12 weeks. The work locations are stated above. This is a mobile working position and we will need the temp to have a full licence. We will provide the van for business use. They will report to the team leader, this position is a key role within our Estates and Open spaces department. Their impact in the role: As a Caretaker they will be involved in maintaining communal areas within our blocks and on our estates, carrying out communal cleaning and grounds maintenance work. Ideally they will be able to carry out small maintenance repairs as required. They must be comfortable liaising directly with residents and contractors and answering queries, They must have due regard to health & safety and security issues. What they will bring: Capable of carrying out a variety of small repair jobs and working effectively as part of a team and under your own initiative. Trade skills, Gardening or DIY experience would be an advantage together with a recognised City & Guilds or Bics qualification in cleaning, although not essential as training would be provided. A good communicator and willing to learn new skills as the service adapts to the changing needs within the Neighbourhood. Able to work on your own initiative and be self-motivated to organise your own time effectively. Proactive in your daily activities and aware of safe working practices. With training, you will be able to identify lawn issues and offer advice on treatments that may be required. Carrying out essential Spring/Autumn machine work such as Aerators, Scarifiers and lawn top-dressers using a variety of professional lawncare machinery. Aeration and scarification is the reduction of moss, thatch and soil compaction which needs to be carried out in a safe and professional manner. The use of regular garden tools such as rakes, leaf sweepers and brooms to clear scarification waste Working in a team or alone on machine work which can be physically demanding so good general fitness is required. Maintain standards of all health and safety practices, as supplied by Green Thumb Limited. Maintaining a high level of cleanliness of the company vehicle and ensure all servicing is completed. Ensure a professional and smart appearance at all times. Carrying out any necessary simple service calls as and when they arise. Carry out lawn analysis and quotations as required. Supporting business growth by speaking to potential customers and giving point of sale material as requested. Maintain and update stock reports when required. You will be a point of contact for customer queries when on site and manage customer expectations. What you'll be doing Responsibility for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety and repair to our estates, blocks and schemes. Carrying out hoovering, sweeping, mopping, cleaning of communal doors, glazed areas, lighting, high & low level dusting, litter picking outside, ensuring all areas are clean and litter free. You will also carry out Health & Safety checks ensuring communal areas are free from combustible materials, slip and trip hazards, carrying out emergency light, fire alarm, legionella testing, reporting any issues identified to Compliance.
