Job Title : Mission System Radar Lead Engineer Location: Warton - Onsite Salary: £57,000+ depending on experience and skills The Mission Systems Delivery team As our Mission System Radar Lead Engineer, you will join a fast-paced team on an advanced and highly capable sensing system which is at the heart of the next generation combat air systems. In this role, there is opportunity to work as a tri-national team and develop international relationships and experience international cultures. You will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of all radar engineering activities, delivering the next generation of military aircraft across the UK, Japan and Italy. You will be presented with opportunities to develop sensing technologies, work with key partners & suppliers and customers and gain exposure to a wider range of internal and external stakeholders. What you'll be doing Developing Radar concepts which meet customer needs/requirements for the FCAS/GCAP system with international partners (Japan & Italy) Acting as the primary Mission Systems point of contact for Radar Systems within the FCAS/GCAP Programme and providing Subject Matter Expert Radar knowledge into cross-functional trade studies Providing oversight / technical leadership to supplier activities in this domain area Executing plans to deliver and undertake oversight and review of performance assessments to support programme gate reviews, SRR and SFR Providing technical oversight to the development of the Radar requirements set being modelled in a Model Based Systems Engineering toolset Planning and technically overseeing supplier activities to develop Radar systems through to PDR / CDR maturity Planning and implementing Radar System Integration, simulation, synthetics and test You'll also have people manager responsibilities in this role Your skills and experiences A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience Experience of working with Radar and/or Radio Frequency (RF) systems Experience of leading and managing engineering teams Systems engineering and engineering lifecycle experience Knowledge of systems engineering methods and tools (e.g. UML/SysML, MoDAF, MOOD, Matlab) Benefits As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
