Trainee Quantity Surveyor - Permanent - Up to 35,000 per annum - Full Time Maldon - office based We are partnering with a well established, family run construction business that has been thriving for many years in the local area. They are now looking for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor and here is what makes this opportunity stand out. You do not need to already be a Quantity Surveyor. You simply need the drive and interest to become one. Whether you are a graduate or someone with experience in construction, construction supply, estimating, or document control, this role offers a genuine pathway into a commercial career. The role You will not be confined to one task or department. Instead, you will gain hands on experience across the full commercial lifecycle, including: Assisting with estimating and tender preparation Supporting procurement and supplier coordination Monitoring project costs and helping maintain budgets Supporting contract and risk management processes Assisting with financial reporting and final accounts Supporting document control and project administration You will also attend site visits approximately twice per month, with all expenses covered, giving you valuable exposure to live projects. What they are looking for A genuine interest in becoming a Quantity Surveyor A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar is preferred but not essential Alternatively, experience within a commercial role in construction, construction supply, estimating, or document control will also be considered Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail are essential Confident communication and relationship building skills A proactive attitude and willingness to learn Strong MS Excel skills required What is on offer Exposure to high profile London projects Fully funded training and development A clear pathway into a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor role Longer term opportunities to visit suppliers across Europe A supportive and close knit team, with many employees having over 10 years of service Christmas shutdown Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Free onsite parking Regular site visits with expenses covered In a larger business, you may become a small part of a much bigger operation.
