Key Responsibilities: Inspect and monitor M&E works on site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and regulations. Provide technical oversight and quality assurance throughout the construction phase. Identify defects, non conformances and risks, ensuring timely corrective action. Prepare detailed site reports, progress updates and photographic records. Liaise with contractors, consultants and project teams to resolve technical issues. Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained at all times. Travel regularly to project sites across Scotland and the South of Ireland. What you'll need to succeed Ideally, you will be a time-served Electrician, Plumber, Pipefitter or similar M&E trade. Strong background in Mechanical & Electrical building services. Experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, M&E Supervisor or similar. Excellent understanding of construction standards, regulations and quality processes. Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel regularly as part of the role. Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule. Heating/ Mechanical Inspector (Ref 2026-69) Location: Various locations across Northern Ireland The post holder with regard to Mechanical Inspection will provide an inspection service on all Natural Gas, Oil, planned and response maintenance contracts to ensure the NIHE that all installations, servicing, and maintenance has been carried out in accordance with the contract documentation and the Statutory Regulations, materials and workmanship. The post holder will inspect and measure works completed at various stages throughout construction including relevant certifications updating these on the NIHE computer database and maintain detailed records. The post holder will forward a report on their findings to the M&E Project Manager/Inspectorate Manager on a weekly basis. The current salary for this post is £32,597 - £36,363 per annum. We also have an excellent pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19%.
