The L&D Consultant will work directly with the Director of Organisational Capability to design a clear, ambitious and practical enterprise-wide learning strategy focused on AI and data capability uplift. 1-2 days office based in London This role will create the strategic blueprint for how we: Raise foundational AI and data literacy across the entire organisation. Build targeted data and AI learning pathways for specific functional areas. Develop technical programmes (including apprenticeship levy-funded options) to support specialist upskilling and professional certification. This work will directly support the creation of a compelling learning strategy that prepares colleagues for the opportunities and challenges of AI, ensures responsible and informed adoption, and aligns with organisational priorities. Operational delivery remains with the internal team; this role is exclusively strategic. You're accountable for: Data & AI Learning Strategy Developing a coherent, organisation-wide learning strategy that builds confidence, capability and responsible use of data and AI. Designing a multi-tiered capability framework foundation>intermediate>advanced) aligned to our organisational roles and future needs. Creating learning pathways and recommended interventions for generalist, functional and technical audiences. Identifying success measures, KPIs and milestones to track capability uplift. Foundational Data & AI Literacy (Learning for All) Defining and recommending learning solutions that build a baseline understanding of AI, data concepts, responsible/ethical AI and practical workplace applications. Building on the earlier work already undertaken in this space, integrating it into a more comprehensive strategic approach. Targeted Functional Upskilling Partnering with operational and enabling functions to understand where AI and data can add the most value. Creating tailored learning pathways for functions such as casework, operations, HR, finance, digital/IT, and customer services. Recommending appropriate learning approach, (blended learning, simulations, in role learning, vendor-led programmes) Technical Skills & Certification Programmes Developing a strategy for deeper technical development Identifying relevant certification routes Recommending where apprenticeship levy funding can be used to support structured, accredited learning. Future Skills & Horizon Scanning Conducting external research to understand emerging AI and data trends relevant to our work. Providing insight on future skills we will need over the next 3 to 5 years. Advising on partnerships with learning providers, universities, vendors and accreditation bodies. Stakeholder Engagement & Influence Working closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and digital strategy. Providing high-quality strategic advice, positioning the organisation to navigate digital and data-driven change. Your experience includes: Extensive experience in L&D strategy, organisational development, or talent management at a senior/strategic level. Significant experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level data, digital or AI capability strategies. Strong understanding of AI fundamentals, data literacy, responsible/ethical AI use, and emerging industry trends. Demonstrated expertise in building structured learning pathways and capability frameworks. Experience working with apprenticeship levy-funded programmes and/or accredited technical learning pathways. Proven ability to work at a strategic level and influence senior stakeholders. Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

This role will partner closely with change and transformation teams to embed strong employee relations practices at the heart of organisational design and restructuring activity. Working collaboratively with People Projects, Strategic People are Partners and senior transformation leads, you'll shape ER strategy early in change programmes ensuring risks are anticipated, decisions are fair and compliant and delivery is efficient. The role You'll play a pivotal role in supporting both small scale and enterprise-wide change initiatives, acting as a trusted ER expert during periods of complexity and ambiguity. Your input will ensure consultations are robust, consistent and aligned with both legal requirements and commercial objectives.
