Trainee Field Technician Reporting to: Field Operations Technical Manager Overview The Trainee Field Technician role involves supporting geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental site investigations and conducting site testing. Work is carried out under the direction of a Project Engineer and, where appropriate, under the supervision of the Field Operations Technical Manager, Field Engineer, or Senior Field Technician. Standards All duties must be completed in line with established Quality Assurance standards, following the procedures and methods outlined in the company's Operational Procedures Manual. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conducting a range of site-based tests. Accurately collecting, recording, and logging site data and observations. Assisting in the preparation and updating of technical reports. Using computer-aided engineering and design software to support project documentation. Driving company vehicles as required. Qualifications, Skills and Experience GCSEs (or equivalent) or higher-level qualifications. Successful completion of internal induction and on-the-job training programmes. Demonstrated ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively. Full, clean UK driving licence (B+E towing licence advantageous). Make adjustments to tooling where required. Report faults or requirements for new parts to your Line Manager immediately on discovery. Job rotation with other machines to cover absence. Training new staff members on how to operate machinery. Responsible for supervising packing staff members at the end of the production line and on the belt. Responsible for the quality of the goods produced off the machine. Maintain the working order of the machine to avoid down time. Provide suggestions and observations on how to improve operations. Clean the machine at the end of every shift, always keeping it in good running order. Exercise excellent housekeeping standards at all times including the work area around the machine as well as communal factory areas. Be flexible and work as a team to deliver the business needs. Reporting to an Operations Lead, this role provides direct control, oversight, mentoring and is responsible for carrying out supervision of technicians in the execution of their maintenance activities. Will have a proven technical knowledge and the ability to supervise, plan, sequence, distribute and control technical work for a small group of aircraft technicians. Will be able to provide effective leadership, direction and guidance as and when required. Will ensure the standards/certification of all associated aircraft paperwork completed by their team has been completed IAW company procedures. Must hold or be able to obtain company supervisory authorisations on the aircraft type being worked on, independent inspections and fulfil their individual tasks within the scope of their authorisation. Will adopt a collaborative approach to their work and role model Airmanship, Husbandry and H&S practise within their teams. Responsibilities: Deliver aircraft maintenance under MAA MRP Part 145 approval or under the approval of the MOD customer. Assembly, disassembly and/or modification of systems, changing, removing, replacing and/or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Perform routine troubleshooting of complex aircraft systems, such as pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical/electronic to isolate faults and repair faulty components IAW technical information published in authorised maintenance documents.
