We are working with a privately owned law firm, established almost 30 years ago who have an excellent reputation in the areas of law that they practice. In order to continue their development they are looking to strengthen their housing disrepair department, and are looking for a Senior Housing Disrepair Solicitor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of housing law and experience in dealing with complex disrepair claims. Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and representation to clients who are having issues with housing disrepair Conduct investigations into housing disrepair claims Negotiate settlements with landlords and property managers Prepare and file court documents Represent clients at hearings and trials Qualifications: Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' experience in housing disrepair law Strong understanding of housing law and procedure Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong client service skills As our client are wanting to grow their housing disrepair department, we are looking to speak to candidates at all levels of experience / seniority who have worked within the housing disrepair market. Costs Draftsman Team Leader - HDR Hours: Full time Salary: up to 60K DOE + bonus Location: Manchester City Centre - at least 1 day in the office a week Job Reference: CWS522 Key Responsibilities: As Costs Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of costs draftsmen, managing their performance, and acting as the key technical referral point. You will provide guidance, support, and training to team members to enhance both individual and team performance, while also maintaining a reduced personal caseload of housing disrepair costs matters. You will take ownership of drafting and reviewing Points of Reply, as well as managing Lien, Client Costs, and Defendant Costs files. A key part of your role will involve ensuring that fee earners and solicitors are fully supported with accurate and timely costs schedules, allowing cases to progress smoothly. You will also oversee the recovery of costs following successful case outcomes, ensuring that processes are completed efficiently and in line with best practice. In addition, you will play an active role in the smooth running of the wider business by assisting with operational requirements as and when needed. Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience in supervising and managing legal costs teams, ideally within HDR claims. Strong working knowledge of Proclaim and Costs Master.
