Role: Technical Administrator (6 9 Month Contract) Location: Wyndham Way, Kettering, NN16 8SD Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum Interaction Recruitment is working on behalf of our client to recruit a Technical Administrator for a 6 to 9 month fixed-term contract. This role sits within the Fall Arrest Team as part of the Safety Products Testing department. About the Department The Safety Product Testing team carries out testing on a wide range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a global customer base, ensuring products meet required safety and performance standards. Products tested include gloves, fall protection equipment, motorcycle garments, high visibility clothing, eyewear, helmets, hearing protection, chainsaw garments, kneepads, sports protection, and more. The department operates multiple accredited laboratories equipped with specialist machinery used to test PPE against International and European standards. Test results are reported to customers and support product development as well as CE and UKCA certification processes. The team consists of approximately 25 multi-skilled technicians, technologists, and support staff. Key Responsibilities Respond to customer enquiries accurately and professionally within agreed timeframes Carry out administrative duties related to creating and booking in customer projects and product samples Support purchasing processes for equipment and consumables Maintain communication with customers via phone, email, video calls, and occasional on-site meetings Accurately maintain data within the company CRM system Liaise with testing teams and customers to prepare quotations for testing and audits Coordinate customer visits with internal teams and clients Work with other departments and subcontractors to arrange calibrations and testing Assist with equipment calibration activities and maintain records Develop a technical understanding of customer products and available PPE services Build strong working relationships with colleagues and customers About You Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a Science (Grades A C or equivalent experience) Highly organised with strong self-motivation Naturally inquisitive with problem-solving abilities Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel Desirable: Experience in auditing or compliance-related roles Knowledge or experience of PPE products Familiarity with testing standards (EN, ISO, BS) Experience using database systems (Dynamics preferred) Understanding of a quality management system (QMS) Benefits days annual leave (dependent on service) Life assurance Group personal pension plan Income protection Free parking Flexible working hours Closing Date: Friday 8th May 2026 Interviews: Wednesday 20th May 2026 (on site) If you are a detail-oriented administrator with a technical interest and strong organisational skills, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and supportive team. Key responsibilities include : Carrying out routine physical testing of PPE in line with recognised international standards Operating specialist laboratory equipment and recording accurate test data Preparing samples prior to testing procedures Maintaining organised and clean laboratory workspaces Managing sample storage and ensuring traceability of materials Supporting technologists during customer visits and demonstrations Recording results on both paper-based and digital systems for reporting purposes Following strict quality procedures and laboratory standards at all times Full training will be provided across all equipment and testing procedures. Key Duties: Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance mainly on mechanical and hydraulic aeronautical tooling (lifting equipment, support tools, measuring tools, GSE). Carry out technical expertise, functional tests, and load tests to validate the conformity of repaired equipment. Establish diagnostic methods and propose repair solutions when standard procedures are not sufficient. Dismantle, reassemble, adjust, and calibrate equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with technical standards. Conduct quality control checks before shipment and prepare equipment for delivery to customers. Perform on-site interventions at customer locations (airlines, MROs, OEMs). Ensure proper use of ERP and workshop documentation to track work progress and maintain records. Maintain workshop organization: cleanliness, tooling storage, stock management, and compliance with safety rules. Act as the main customer focal point for after-sales services, ensuring clear communication and trustful relationships. Principal skills and Qualifications Required Technical diploma or degree in mechanics (automotive, motorcycle, heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, industrial mechanics, or equivalent). Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance (hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems). Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation. Manual dexterity, precision, and a practical approach to problem-solving. Preferred: Experience in an airline, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul), or aerospace environment. Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., EASA Part 145)
