Carry out MIG welding operations as required for specific projects. Support the company's transition toward laser welding, bringing existing experience or a willingness to train and develop in this area. Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components, frames, and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications. Operate and maintain fabrication equipment, welding tools, and measuring instruments. Complete grinding, cutting, and finishing work as part of the fabrication process. Deliver work to high standards of accuracy, quality, and finish. Prepare metal materials for fabrication and welding to meet job requirements. Ensure all orders are completed accurately, within budget, and delivered on time, meeting company Quality Objectives. Work from customer drawings and specifications to produce parts in accordance with the our clients Quality - Code of Practice. Inspect parts in line with the company's Checking/Inspection Process. Accurately open and close work orders using the company's computerised system (ProgressPlus). Actively monitor working practices and provide feedback to improve efficiency and job profitability. Our client who is under new ownership and leadership is looking for a Welder to work on a variety of fabrication projects using mild steel, aluminium and stainless. The type of work is often on show so fettling, finishing, and prepping for powder-coating are also important. Materials used is usually 2-6mm, and products can include self check-in kiosks, EV charging stations, electrical racks and cabinets, leisure and retail equipment. Experience of MIG, TIG, and MMA is preferred. There is plenty of work and opportunities for overtime if desired. Standard hours are Mon-Thurs 7-4, and Friday 7-1. Rates of pay are competitive and will depend upon experience and level of welding ability. A weld test will form part of the recruitment process.
