Specialising in concrete frames, groundworks, enabling works, and large basement structures, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Planner to join their Pre-Construction team , following the planned retirement of a valued colleague. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a financially robust and forward-thinking business that has grown organically through reinvestment-not borrowing. Working directly with senior decision-makers, the successful candidate will play a key role in tender planning, helping to shape construction methodologies and deliver accurate, high-quality programme submissions. The Role: As Planner, you will support both the tender and pre-construction stages of complex projects, many of which are delivered for Tier 1 Main Contractors and Developers across London and the Home Counties. The projects often include structural elements such as demolition, piling, utilities, and external works. Responsibilities: Develop detailed programmes for groundworks, concrete frames, basements, and related activities. Collaborate closely with estimators and project delivery teams to determine optimal sequencing and methodology. Contribute to the bid process, preparing planning documentation and supporting tender submissions. Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate planning strategies and delivery timelines. Use Asta Powerproject to produce and manage programmes (training available for candidates with relevant experience transitioning into Pre-Construction roles). About You: Proven planning experience in the construction or civil engineering sector-ideally with exposure to concrete frames and groundworks. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and logistics. Experience working on tenders or live project planning (Pre-Construction planning experience is desirable but not essential). Competent with planning software-experience with Asta Powerproject is ideal (training can be provided). Clear and confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, estimators, and operational teams. Work from the Borehamwood office (flexible arrangements available for the right candidate). Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Manager and senior leadership team to refine project planning and delivery. Planner Position Requirements: Experience in construction planning or project/contracts management within concrete frames and groundworks. Knowledge of pre-construction planning and sequencing. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to discuss methodologies with clients and directors. IT literate with experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with Asta Powerproject is highly desirable but not essential (training can be provided). Ability to work in an office-based role with a collaborative team environment.
